V/A - I Like It Like That (Fania Remixed)
You’ll recognize that when people burn out on funk music, they go exotic, so it’s no surprise that we're all mad about the Fania Records remix album I Like It Like That. Our friends Bugz In The Attic, Aaron Jerome, DJ Format, Ashley Beedle, Quantic, Simbad, Louis Vega and co all lend a hand for some great interpretations of the classic output from the world’s most loved Latin label. Most of the remixes seem to be re-edits with tasteful additions, such as a little sub here or an echo there or perhaps a few layered drum sounds, which goes to show that when the right crew are on the job they can attack it in a similar way but come up trumps. What’s not surprising is that the tempo is fairly hot throughout and that the label has had to employ a few current big names like Sinden and Bondo Do Role, so don’t upset when two of the fourteen tracks are rubbish.
