Laurent Garnier - Tales Of A Kleptomaniac

F-Communications was a label littered with moments of absolute brilliance but in its latter years it became too introspective, releasing awkward music that a lot of the world could not relate to. After the sad demise of his F-Com, Laurent Garnier returns with a new artist album on PIAS and it seems as though he’s doing something he’s wanted to do for ages. Tales Of A Kleptomaniac opens with the dancefloor call-to-arms No Musik, No Life which samples a boogie/street-funk chant and then lays down some dirty bassline business. Elsewhere on the LP is hip hop, beat poetry over some light psych, afro-tech, grime and more. His albums have always been fully realised and had hits, but have never seemed as much fun as this one!
