Antony & Cleopatra Australian Tour

After last week’s announcement that Antony & Cleopatra will be joining Running Touch on a run of shows for his ‘When I’m Around You’ Australian tour this May/June, the Australian/UK electro duo today announce they’ll be performing a pair of their own headline club shows in Melbourne and Sydney alongside those support slots.

Fans will now have more chances to catch the duo spin their infamous bangers ‘Dust’ and ‘Twitch,’ as well as last year’s stellar debut EP, the stunning Hurt Like Hell – including singles like the neo-disco record ‘Hard Feelings’ and the hypnotic title single. The duo are also prolific songwriters and collaborators – amongst other tracks, gig-goers can anticipate triple j smash ‘The Future’ (with Motez, now at 15M Spotify streams) and new dancefloor anthem ‘Slippin’ (Jaded / Black Caviar, supported by Don Diablo and Diplo & Friends) which has become the soundtrack of megaclubs across Europe.

Antony & Cleopatra will be throwing these headline parties at Melbourne’s Workers Club on June 13 and the Oxford Art Gallery in Sydney on June 15. Drawing from their eclectic catalogue of techno and house, through to pop, R’n’B and even a touch of future bass, there’s no doubt these nights will have something for everyone.

Last year’s Hurt Like Hell EP was the culmination of years of songwriting and experimenting between Antony and Cleopatra’s two primary members, Alexander Burnett and Anita Blay, which has seen the duo discover an innate ability to craft and hone their signature sound that draws you in through repetition, rhythm and subtle melodies, leaving you craving for more after every listen.

This appeal that has been seizing the attention of dance music fans across the globe has now began to crossover to the mainstream. Last year’s single ‘Hurt Like Hell’ was quickly added to triple j, with the eponymous EP receiving support from Aussie tastemakers like Pilerats, Purple Sneakers and Stoney Roads, as well as international powerhouses like Martin Solveig, Complex, and The Kollection.

Tickets for Antony & Cleopatra’s two headline shows are on sale now so don’t miss the chance to experience a dance floor that’s not too dissimilar to the infamous UK underground nightclubs.  With a few months since the release of that debut EP, the ever experimenting and developing A+C are also set to debut some new tunes live as well. The duo has been busy in the studio perfecting new vicious hooks, infectious grooves and vocal lines ready to be tried and tested in front of worthy audiences for the first time, so it looks like those that make these June shows will be in for some special treats.
