NAMESAKE

Hailing from the west coast of Australia, producer NAMESAKE arrived on the scene in early 2020 but has been honing her craft from a young age.

Nat (aka NAMESAKE) grew up playing drums and started DJing in 2017. She has established herself as a prominent DJ in the Perth music scene playing many soulection-inspired events like HIVE, WLDFLWR and Motel 6 and has opened for international acts J. Robb and Uncle Waffles on their Australian tours.

NAMESAKE takes inspiration from Soundcloud’s future beats culture and the likes of Kaytranada, Mura Masa, Tom Misch, Monte Booker & more. Dabbling in hip hop, R&B and an array of other electronic genres, NAMESAKE’s seasoned beats aim to have listeners scrunching their face, jerking their heads and getting lost in the groove.

NAMESAKE has collaborated with alternative R&B artist Jewel Owusu, to bring the EP ‘mantra’ and singles ‘Susie’, ‘ur not my friend’, ‘Blue’ and ‘All on You’ featuring Adrian Dzuke & CHISEKO.

The singles from her upcoming debut EP have seen wide support from Spotify Editorials including New Music Friday, Indie Arrivals, Crush, The Hybrid, Fresh Finds AU & NZ, Soundcloud Editorials and various independent curators such as ACCLAIM Heat of the Week, AUD Dollars.
