Gold Member

Gold Member have been steadily making their way into our ears supporting Sticky Fingers , Boo Seeka , Kim Churchill and warming up the stages of the Shake N Bake tour this year. The skank-electro duo’s most recent track ‘Sweetest Thing’ is keeping the airwaves dancing and grooved it’s way onto the Unearthed charts. With a little bit of sugar, a little bit of spice and everything nice, ‘Sweetest Thing’ is sweeter than the two lovely ladies at the lemonade stand and will leave you with a sugar high like a kid on Halloween night.

Az’s space-sauce vocals draw in the ears while multi-instrumentalist Gus Goldie brings the electronic flavours, and the Goldfather melds it all together. 80’s synths and hooks and driving hip-hop beats , Gold Member plates up delicious mix of genres. One thing that’s a constant though is the skank. Az on vocals and guitar , Gus Goldie as a multi-instrumentalist, and the Goldfather keep it locked tight the pairing is as perfect as rice and soy sauce, spinning on a lazy susan at your favourite 2am Chinese joint.

Following success with their single: ‘ Rope Swing, ’ Gold Member kept it hot last summer by appearing on festivals like Festival of the Sun , Woodford Folk Festival , Beyond The Valley and Party in The Paddock. Triple J’s very own Bridget Hurstwaite quotes: “ What a take on hip hop, love the electro beats and some slick guitar.” This took Goldie across the ocean by supporting Boo Seeka on their European tour. Playing to new audiences and making new friends it was a great journey for the dynamic duo.

Goldie have had an adventurous year so far, touring with Kim Churchill and supporting their label brothers in Boo Seeka, and continuing their golden run, will be supporting Lime Cordiale on their upcoming run of shows. Can’t make it to a Lime Cordiale show? Catch them at their residency at the Moonshine Bar this December.
