REMI Announces Supports for National Album Tour

With his brand new album “RAW X INFINITY” thefeature album on triple j this week, REMI has just dropped another big announcement, revealing the incredible list of artists joining him for his upcoming national album tour.

Not content taking a couple of acts to every city, REMI and long-term collaborators Sensible J and Dutch have invited an impressive and diverse selection of talented acts from right across the country to join them in different cities.

Don’t know who they all are? Here’s a quick guide:

L-Fresh the Lion: Fresh off the release of his debut album ‘One’ to stellar reviews and his own national headline tour, L-FRESH The LION will be joining Remi on the road for a number of dates. L-FRESH has fast become renowned for his powerful presence and inspiring live shows, along with a reputation for some of the most intelligent lyrics in Australian hip-hop.

N’fa Jones: A fellow member of the ‘House of Beige’ crew, N’fa Jones recently dropped his new album “Black + White Noise” to critical acclaim (which was predominantly produced by Sensible J and Dutch). He was also one of the founding members of the seminal Australian Hip Hop group 1200 Techniques.

Silent Jay: At only twenty-two years old Alejandro Jay Abapo’s list of accomplishments is already staggering. As a singer and performer alongside internationally acclaimed future-soul group HIATUS KAIYOTE, he plays the saxophone in experimental-jazz quintet DEMIAN and under the moniker ‘Silent Jay’ is an impressive producer/DJ.

Hau Latukefu: Hau Latukefu is a true pioneer of the Hip Hop scene in Australia. As founding member of Koolism he released 5 critically acclaimed albums (including winning an Aria for Best Urban Act in 2004) and he also currently hosts the weekly Hip Hop show on triple j. There are whispers of a solo record coming soon… stay tuned.

Akouo: Launceston-based beatsmith Akouo’s original productions and remixes tread a fine line between heady hip-hop and wonky downtempo electronic. He has received generous airtime on Triple J, support from the likes of Flying Lotus, Mr Carmack and Ganz and three of his tracks have broke Hype Machine’s top 5 already this year.

WZRDKID: Fresh off their opening slot at the Mildura One Night Stand and recently topping the triple j Unearthed hip-hop charts, WZRDKID an experimental hip hop trio from Mildura look forward to showing crowds their futuristic and unique sound.

KNOE: Having supported the likes of Action Bronson, David Dallas and Skyzoo, KNOE is an impressive lyricist-on-the-rise that hails from WA and is a former member of the Perth bass music faction, DeadWeight! Crew.

MzRizk: Melbourne-based DJ MzRizk has been spinning soulful tunes and dope beats for over 10 years and has appeared on festivals including Glastonbury and Big Day Out. MzRizk’s also hosts the weekly show “the Urban Fervour” on Kiss FM.

Bates:Self-described as “Just a kid from the coast making a sound for my city”.  His latest mixtape “When the spit hits the fan” is well worth checking out.

Omar Musa: Omar Musa is a Malaysian-Australian rapper and poet from Queanbeyan, Australia. He is the former winner of the Australian Poetry Slam and the Indian Ocean Poetry Slam. He has released three hip hop albums, two poetry books (including “Parang”), appeared on ABC’s Q&A and received a standing ovation at TEDx Sydney at the Sydney Opera House.

Tigerilla: Hailing from Adelaide, Tigerilla has plenty of features bumping around and is constantly working the live scene having played alongside, Hermitude, TNGHT, Allday and many more. Keep an ear out for new tunes coming soon.

Relevent:  Relevent is a Newcastle born and raised MC who has made an impact on the HipHop scene in Newcastle and beyond since releasing his first track in 2013.  Already in 2014 he has shared the stage with Bliss n Eso (AUS) Xzibit (US) & Savage (NZ).

Cazeaux O.S.L.O.: Originally from Moreno Valley Calirornia, Cazeaux O.S.L.O. is a purveyor and talented creator of Sol Music. He is also an expert Final Fantasy 8 player.
